Saturday we decided to get to know more of DC! We started the day with delicious sandwiches at Potbelly (yum-o!) and a brisk walk to the National Mall from there. We went to the Holocaust museum, which is actually kind of a let down if you aren't there first thing in the morning to get passes to see the permanent exhibit. However, we did learn a lot about the Olympics when Hitler was in power... did you know that Nazi's started the Olympic Torch Run??! Now I don't know how I feel about that part of the ceremony! After we saw all we could see, we headed to the Air and Space Museum to look for one of the toys Ryan's parents bought for his cousins. Ryan really enjoyed playing with it, but apparently other people do too because it was sold out! Disappointed, we decided to go to the Hirschorn Museum, where I went a couple of weeks ago with Ryan's family. We realized sometimes we just don't see what modern art is cracked up to be. Ryan decided he's going to become an artist too!
The best part of Saturday was Saturday night! We went to our first Nationals baseball game and it was awesome! First of all, they have the biggest, most delicious, turkey dogs I have ever had in my life! I will definitely have a turkey dog at every game I attend! Our first seats were kind of high up, but there's a great view of the field all of the way around. We, like many others, moved down to better seats for the last few innings! Sunday, we ran a bunch of errands in the morning and got everything we needed to start our herb garden!! We didn't have time to plant though because we went to Rockville's Hometown Holidays! We've realized that Rockville Town Square is one of our favorite places to hang out and grab a bite to eat. Hometown Holidays is a huge festival that lasts two days. It had lots of booths with arts and crafts, a green expo, carnival rides, a taste of the town (samples of food from a bunch of the local restaurants you buy with tickets- we had the most amazing taquitos!), and free concerts! The headliner was Rick Springfield who sings that song, "Jesse's Girl"! It was an awesome way to spend a Sunday!

Monday we decided to stay home and relax! We started our herb garden and had our first meal on our new patio furniture!
What a great weekend!
